What is a Travel Wedding?

A travel wedding – also known as a destination wedding – is a wedding which occurs in an exotic location away from home. Travel weddings can take place in a wide variety of destinations, like the the Caribbean, Mexico, Latin America, and even in parts of Europe .

You offer weddings in destinations throughout the world. Which destinations are the most popular?

Yes! We offer destination weddings in a variety of attractive locations. Our top destinations include: Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, Hawaii, Bahamas, Bermuda Costa Rica, Antigua, Barbados, Turks & Caicos, St. Maarten, Curacao, Exuma and St. Lucia. Many of our clients opt to have their wedding on a beach, which explains their well-deserved popularity.

Why should I plan my wedding with TravelWedding.com?

A wedding is a jubilant occasion, but planning for it can also be extremely stressful and time-consuming. We have been planning weddings since 1976, which has enabled us to build strong relationships with all our resorts, suppliers, coordinators, airlines and more. This makes all the difference when it comes time to create your dream wedding.

We can accommodate parties of any size. We also can fulfil virtually any request pertaining to ethnicity, religious beliefs, diet, cultural traditions, etcetera.

How will you help me plan a wedding?

Our team of wedding coordinators will work closely with you and your party to plan the wedding of your dreams. We offer customized weddings based on our consultations with you. We will help you pick the right destination and resort, and arrange for your honeymoon and travel accommodations. This includes you, your wedding party and your guests. Your wedding coordinator will also pair you up with an on-site coordinator at the resort who will assist you before ceremony and reception.

If I have a Travel Wedding, what costs am I responsible for?

You are responsible for wedding costs, airfare, wedding dress, tuxedos and any other incidentals. You are not responsible for your guests’ airfare.

How many guests can I invite to my travel wedding?

This depends entirely on your budget and personal preference. A travel wedding can be as large or small as you want. Some couples prefer to celebrate by themselves. Others choose to invite many guests. No matter the size of wedding, a travel wedding is a perfect way to celebrate the most important day of your life.

How do I get my wedding dress down safely?

We will make arrangements for your wedding dress. Most airlines have large “coat closets” that can be used for bridal gown storage. Never ship your wedding dress to a foreign destination.

Are destination weddings more or less expensive than traditional weddings?

This depends on many variables like number of guests, location, time of year, length of stay, etcetera. If enough research and planning is done, a travel wedding can be less expensive than a traditional wedding.

Whether you choose a romantic ceremony for two or an opulent celebration for 200 of your closest friends and family members, the memories of your wedding will live on for years to come. Why not treat you and your guests to a wedding paradise with white-sand beaches and crystal clear waters? Or, choose to have your ceremony overlook breathtaking mountain vistas or inside impeccably manicured gardens.
